GBTC Negative Premium Rate Narrows to 9.78%
Coinglass data indicates that the GBTC (Grayscale Bitcoin Trust) premium has narrowed to 9.78%, marking the first time it has fallen below 10% since July 2021.
GBTC, or Grayscale Bitcoin Trust, is an investment tool offered by Grayscale. The trust fund allows investors to indirectly invest in Bitcoin by purchasing its shares. Grayscale holds Bitcoin and enables investors to indirectly hold the value of Bitcoin by issuing GBTC shares.
This structure allows investors who do not wish to directly buy and hold Bitcoin to participate in Bitcoin investment. As GBTC currently does not support redemptions, the premium rate of GBTC can reflect market sentiment towards BTC.
