Ethereum Layer 2 Lisk has launched on mainnet and announced airdrop plans. Lisks testnet was launched in late February this year after migrating from Layer 1 to Layer 2 a few months prior. In addition to the official mainnet launch, the platform is set to airdrop 15 million LSK tokens.
The Lisk airdrop campaign will begin on November 21, and its first season will last for four months. One of the ways users can earn points is by completing tasks on the Lisk platform. They will earn points for doing so, and the total number of points a user earns determines how many LSK tokens they will receive through the airdrop.
Lisk was originally launched as a Layer 1 blockchain in 2016. However, in December 2023, it moved to Ethereum Layer 2 to shift its focus to real assets and decentralized physical infrastructure networks. Lisk relies on Optimism‘s OP Stack Layer 2 development framework and Gelato’s Rollup-as-a-Service platform. The move also moved the platforms native token, LSK, to Ethereum.
