The co-founder and former CEO of Binance on Wednesday revealed that he has a pet dog, in response to a self-described long-time BNB holder. The exchange prompted another crypto community member to ask for the dogs name and photo, suggesting he might want to use it to create a meme coin.

CZ, aware of the situation, retweeted the inquiry and stated that he was genuinely curious about how it works.

“Honest newbie question. How does this work？ I share my dog‘s name and picture, and then people create meme coins？ How do you know which one is ”official“？ Or does that even matter？” CZ stated, adding that he received numerous requests for his dog’s name and picture.

In a follow-up tweet, CZ said he got the answers. The co-founder of Binance told his 9.6 million followers that he found the whole process “pretty interesting.”

“Will mull it over for a day or so, as usual for big decisions,” CZ noted, humorously weighing in whether he should protect his dogs privacy or “dox the dog for a cause.”

This story led to the creation of a number of meme tokens on Pump.fun and Four.meme, the first meme fair launch platform on BNB Chain.

Top dog-themed coins also saw their prices soar over the past 8 hours, according to CoinGecko data.

This came briefly after CZ posted about BNB Chains educational video demonstrating how to launch a meme token on the four.meme platform, which inadvertently revealed the TST token ticker.

The token surged to a $52 million market cap following CZs post. The video was already removed, and CZ also clarified that TST is not an official BNB Chain token.
