  • Yescoin founder Zhang Chi was detained by Shanghai police following a business dispute with his partner, raising concerns within the community.
  • The Yescoin team insists operations remain stable, but repeated token launch delays and leadership uncertainty fuel skepticism among supporters.

When a cryptocurrency project grows rapidly, the community‘s hopes and expectations rise as well. But behind the scenes, disputes sometimes arise that compromise the project’s viability itself.

This time, a mini-game project called Yescoin—which is developing on the TON ecosystem—saw unanticipated internal conflict. Zhang Chi, also known as Zoroo, the founder of the project, allegedly got arrested by Shanghai police because of a business dispute with his partner, Wang Mouxin.

The Yescoin community is in turmoil over this instance, particularly because the incident happened within repeated token launch delays.

Internal Conflict Creates Criminal Charges

At first, the conflict between Zhang and Wang appeared to be a typical business concern. But things got more dire when Wang reported Zhang to the authorities. The report has Zhang under the custody of the Shanghai police now.

Indeed, given the community‘s annoyance with the several token launch delays, users of are beginning to wonder about the project’s future. Many are questioning whether the project can remain stably running with March 31 as the latest planned date.

Position of Yescoin in the TON Ecosystem

Conversely, the Telegram Open Network (TON) ecosystem is expanding with The Open Network Foundations January 2025 strengthening of their partnership with Telegram Messenger. As we previously , this partnership makes TON the exclusive blockchain infrastructure used for mini-apps on Telegram.

Under this new rule, before February 21, 2025, all blockchain-based apps on Telegram have to transfer to the TON network. Among Telegrams 950 million daily users, this action is intended to raise acceptance of the TON blockchain.

But given the current state of affairs Yescoin is in, the community is asking whether the project will be able to keep up with the enormous wave the TON ecosystem is generating.

The Return of Flappy Bird and the Game Trend on Telegram

On the other hand, in September 2024, Flappy Bird, the venerable 2013 mobile game, returned to Telegram. Fascinatingly, the most recent iteration of the game lets users link their crypto wallets to the game—though this is just optional—by means of the TON blockchain.

The original Flappy Bird developer, Dong Nguyen, has vehemently said, however, that he is not engaged in the latest version and does not even endorse cryptocurrencies.

The fact that Flappy Bird is returning to suggests that blockchain-based games are taking center stage on the platform. However, the example of Yescoin shows that not all blockchain-based gaming projects are without challenges. Key in this ecosystem is community trust, so any internal conflict can significantly affect the course of the project.

The Yescoin team argues that their network is still running regularly and that they are dedicated to preserving stability and community confidence notwithstanding the arrest of the founder. In the fast-paced crypto realm, though, reputation is important. Restoring trust is sometimes challenging when it is undermined.
