November has gone by in the blink of an eye. It‘s the last day of November. December is knocking at the gate. Soon enough, Christmas will be upon us. Winter is coming, Connectioneers, and sooner than I’d like. In just over a month, well all have to start writing 2026 on everything. Sigh.
In any case, if you‘re looking for help with today’s NYT Connections, you‘ve come to the right place. Below, you’ll find some extra hints to help you guess the Yellow, Green, Blue and Purple groups, as well as the categories and, finally, the answers.
Be sure to also check out my latest weekend streaming guide for all the new TV shows and movies coming to Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+ and more. Stranger Things is back and the first half of Season 5 is pretty good.
Alright, Connections time!
How To Solve Todays NYT ConnectionsHow To Play Connections
Connections is the second-most popular NYT Games puzzle game outside of the main crossword itself, and an extremely fun, free offering that will get your brain moving every day. Play it right here.
The goal is to take a group of 16 words and find links between four pairs of four of them. They could be specific categories of terms, or they could be little world puzzles where words may come before or after them you need to figure out. And they get more complicated from there.
There is only one set of right answers for this, and you only get a certain number of tries so you cant just spam around until you find something. There are difficulty tiers coded by color, which will usually go from yellow, blue/green to purple as difficulty increases, so know that going in and when you start linking them together.
You pick the four words you think are linked and either you will get a solve and a lit up row that shows you how you were connected. If you‘re close, it will tell you that you’re one away. Again, four mistakes you lose, but if you want to know the answers without failing, either come here, or delete your web cookies and try again. If you want to play more puzzles, you can get an NYT Games subscription to access the full archives of all past puzzles.

I‘m not really surprised that I came up with the Blue group first. Pirates have always been fascinating to me, and it was pretty clear – once I’d tried to lump Sparrow, Turkey, Swallow and Cockatiel as birds – that Hook, Silver and Sparrow were all fictional pirates. It took me a bit to piece Monkey D. Luffy of One Piece together with the others. Anime is not my forte.
The Green words were pretty clear after this. Thankfully this Connections was not a Bust or a Turkey. I didn‘t Miss. A Lemon is a bit of a different kind of Flop, of course. It’s something that doesn‘t work, like a vehicle you purchase that has a lot of problems. Oh well, I’ll allow it.
At this point, I was a little lost before rooting out the Yellow Group. I couldn‘t Bear to lose, after all. I can’t Stand it when I fail at a NYT Games puzzle. It‘s a hard pill to Swallow. At least today I didn’t have to Stomach defeat.
Which left me with Purple, and because I really couldn‘t find a connection here, I just plugged in the words to find out. Silly me, these all had color homophones tucked into the end of the words. It’s so obvious after the fact.
