Gate.io, a prominent cryptocurrency located in the United States, announced on Wednesday the creation of an institutional services branch aimed primarily at brokers and market makers.
The new “Gate Institutional” service will give the resources required to assist institutions in increasing their bitcoin exposure. The division's goal is to provide a “best-in-class crypto trading solution” to large corporations looking to trade cryptocurrencies, such as market makers, hedge funds, and buy-side firms.
The new institutional section offers solutions designed to meet the demands of brokers and market participants. This move is part of Gate.io's aim to increase liquidity while expanding.
Gate Institution's market maker programs support several of the world's top cryptocurrencies with customizable trade strategies, a frequency of 900r/s for order placing, a frequency of 5000r/s for order cancellations, and support for over 300 WebSocket connections.
The broker program, on the other hand, supports three types of brokers: portal, API, and exchange. Each broker will receive prizes and rewards based on how they use the site.
In addition, Gate Institution intends to offer an exclusive NFT pass that users can use to access Gate.io's metaverse. According to Gate.io, the NFT has been improved with 3D capabilities, allowing users to access whitelist qualifications or direct airdrops.
Gate.io is consequently committed to continuing to serve institutional clients to the best of its capacity.
Mariela Tanchez, Director of Business Development at Gate.io, commented on the news, saying: “More and more institutions are becoming interested in cryptocurrencies and wanting to diversify their portfolios. Gate.io established Gate Institutional to facilitate their access to crypto services. Gate Institutional, as a holistic crypto ecosystem, will benefit a broader range of brokers and market makers.”
fostering innovation in the cryptocurrency industry
Gate.io launched its cryptocurrency trading services in 2013. Initially situated in China, the exchange later relocated its services to the United States, where it sees a large daily trading volume. Its headquarters are in Virginia, and it supports over 500 crypto coins for trading and approximately 30 for direct purchase.
Gate.io is recognized as one of the world's biggest crypto exchanges, with over 10 million registered users, and offers services connected to the trading of numerous main digital assets.
Gate.io announced a $100 million fund in September of last year to promote early-stage startups in the industry. Gate Ventures, the exchange's venture capital entity, was launched, focusing on early-stage investments in decentralized infrastructure, ecosystems, and apps.
Because the crypto and blockchain sectors are still in their early stages, Gate.io is aiming to foster market innovation. Gate Ventures invests in “wide-reaching” projects with capital injections ranging from “millions” to “billions” of dollars. The venture fund also distributes money to open-source projects working on Web 3.0 and open-finance infrastructure.
