The Swedish audio streaming and media services company noted that the new option is only available to a “very small selection of artists,” and that the test is presently offered to a limited number of Android users in the United States.
Participants in the test will be able to preview NFTs on an artist's profile page. They will then be able to navigate to view and learn more about various NFTs, as well as purchase them from external marketplaces.
As part of the test, Spotify stated that it will not charge any fees for NFT sales. The business explained that it is only testing a method for artists selling NFTs to advertise them on its platform. Spotify claims that the data will help them decide whether to deliver a complete feature for all artists.
