A lot of Web3 games are lousy quality

Chris Gonsalves, CEO of the Community Gaming platform, claims Web3 games have a bad reputation because of misunderstandings surrounding NFT.

The Web3 game is becoming more popular, but it has yet to find a market outside of the crypto community. Developers trying to integrate NFT digital assets have received a lot of negative feedback from gamers. NFT is considered by most gamers to be another sneaky way for video game developers to “empty money” from users' wallets. In September 2022, Ubisoft game developer CEO Yves Guillemot appeased gamers with the announcement that the NFT Quartz project was still in its infancy.

Chris Gonsalves, CEO of e-sports platform Web3 Community Gaming, commented: “In general, there are countless negative rumors surrounding the NFT sector. Game developers should switch to calling them digital assets, digital collectibles, or legendary skins. The reason is that gamers are used to buying costumes and items.”

The Web3 Community Gaming platform and the Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) Game7 are teaming up to host the 3XP Gaming Expo. The exhibition is scheduled to take place in Los Angeles on June 8 and 9, 2023. This event will take place before the world's largest electronic entertainment conference (E3) that the gaming industry usually holds from June 13 to 16 every year.

Community Gaming is the official esports partner of 3XP Expo. The show will also feature popular Web3 game developers such as Ava Labs, Polygon Labs, Coinbase, Magic Eden, Yield Guild Games, MoonPay and Phantom. Mr. Chris Gonsalves shared the reason Web3 games have slow development. The first reason is low quality games with imperfect token system. The second reason is the appearance of fraudulent Web3 game projects that damage the reputation of the industry.

“Honestly, there are a lot of Web3 games that are lousy,” said Mr. Gonsalves. Developers make promises they can't keep. We've got a craze for confusing digital profile pictures. Most gamers think that NFT technology is just expensive artwork.

CEO Chris Gonsalves thinks the future of Web3 gaming is bright. The reason is that more and more experienced developers from traditional game studios like Activision, Blizzard and Riot Games are joining. “They know what it takes to build a video game,” said Mr. Gonsalves. These professionals know how long it takes to develop a project, so they don't call them NFTs.Community Gaming is the official esports partner of 3XP Expo. Many veteran game developers turn to build Web3 games.

In Gonsalves' opinion, studios are producing a variety of entertaining games that can compete directly with blockbuster titles like “Valorant,” “Call of Duty,” and “Hearthstone.” Avalon Corp is a Web3 game company founded by experts in the video game industry. In February 2023, Avalon Corp raised USD 13 million (VND 306.5 billion) from investment funds Bitkraft Ventures, Hashed, Delphi Digital, Coinbase Ventures…

As seasoned game developers enter the world of Web3 and create role-playing games that prioritize fun over monetization of gamers, change on a global scale will take place. If gamers opt-out, digital asset ownership and NFT rewards will be meaningless.

Mr. Gonsalves explained: “Gamers will not appreciate if the game is not interesting. Development focus has shifted to high-quality games that come with additional Web3 features for a unique experience.” Mr. Gonsalves' point of view is completely valid. At the end of February 2023, EA Games co-founder Trip Hawkins launched Elemental Raiders, a unique NFT game project.
