ETF expert Nate Geraci wrote on X platform, stating that discussions with Valkyrie Funds co-founder Steven McClurg have progressed significantly with the SEC regarding the structural concerns of a Bitcoin spot ETF. According to McClurg, they have engaged in extensive and detailed discussions, and they are “very close” to reaching an agreement. The expectation is that the Bitcoin spot ETF will create new fund shares in cash.
Furthermore, Geraci mentioned that the preparations related to ETF listing and backend infrastructure have been completed. He emphasized that the US SEC could approve the Bitcoin spot ETF at any time after January 2nd.

Bloomberg analyst Eric Balchunas mentioned on X platform that BlackRock is expected to inject $10 million in seed funding for its Bitcoin spot ETF (ticker: IBIT) on January 3rd. This amount significantly exceeds their previous raise of $100,000 back in October.
