Anthropic Valuation Hits $183B as Claude AI Expands Into Crypto WikiBit 2025-09-03 21:00

AI company Anthropic, the developer of the Claude family of large language models, has reached a $183 billion valuation following its latest funding round

The $183 billion valuation is more than three times higher than Anthropics reported value in January, when it closed a $2 billion fundraiser. While the company is still working to commercialize its tech, its revenue run rate has already surpassed $5 billion, and it now counts more than 300,000 business customers — figures that help justify its soaring valuation.

Anthropics ties to the blockchain industry are limited, though one of its earliest backers was FTX, the collapsed crypto exchange founded by Sam Bankman-Fried. FTX acquired a 7.8% equity stake in Anthropic in 2022. Following its collapse, FTX moved to offload its stake in the AI development company in 2024.

Claude in crypto

Anthropics Claude family is designed as a general-purpose AI assistant, with applications spanning knowledge management, market analysis, content creation, programming and research.

In the crypto industry, Claude has already been adopted by some of the sectors largest exchanges. Coinbase uses Claude to bolster customer support and internal operations, while Crypto.com relies on Claude 3 models via Amazon Bedrock to deliver real-time sentiment analysis across global markets.

Anthropic said Coinbases deployment of Claude has allowed the exchange to serve millions of users, process thousands of messages per hour and sharply reduce customer service handling times.

Some industry observers argue that artificial intelligence will play a foundational role in the cryptocurrency sector, providing one of the few viable ways for firms to ensure compliance in a market defined by uninterrupted, round-the-clock trading.

In a Cointelegraph opinion piece, Currency.com global CEO Konstantin Anissimov described a “gradual transition from human-centered workflows to embedded, AI-powered decision systems,” adding:

“In practice, these tools help map wallet behavior, interpret anomalies across chains and detect mismatches between business logic and regulatory zones in real time and at scale.”
